Father’s Day is around the corner, and what better to celebrate the most important man in your life, than a bowl of popcorn and our list of top heart-warming movies to watch with your dad!

Some of these movie fathers have made us laugh, cry, but all have inspired us in some way, with their touching portrayal and will to do anything for their children. One such movie is the upcoming Incredibles 2, the much awaited sequel that will release on 22nd June, bringing the Strongest Father Mr Incredible back!

Father Of The Bride

Father of the Bride is a 1991 American comedy film starring Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams (in her film debut), George Newbern, Martin Short, B. D. Wong, and Kieran Culkin. Martin portrays a protective father George Banks, who, when he finds out his daughter is getting married, does not want to give her away. He eventually learns to live with his new son-in-law and realizes that as long as his daughter is happy, he is happy.

Life Is Beautiful

An italian film, Life Is Beautiful  shows one of the msot heartwarming fathers in the shape of Benigni who plays Guido Orefice, a Jewish Italian bookshop owner, who employs his fertile imagination to shield his son from the horrors of internment in a Nazi concentration camp.


The film follows a family of superheroes who are forced to hide their powers and live a quiet suburban life. The father especially Mr. Incredible is at the forefront, with the desire to help people who draws the entire family into a battle with a former fan who now plots to wipe out all superheroes with his killer robot . The sequel Incredibles 2 is all set to release this Friday.

Finding Nemo

Disney-Pixar’s Finding Nemo is a cute flick that shows the fun and entertaining journey of Marlin, a clown fish that travels across the ocean to find his son! and along the way he undergoes a transformation in his mindset.

The Pursuit Of Happyness

A deeply moving tale of determination and positivity, this film shows Will Smith as a struggling father, who goes to great lengths, despite being homeless to shield his son from the negativity and keep him happy!

Mrs Doubtfire

One of the best movies from the late Robin Williams, the film follows a recently divorced actor who goes to great lengths and dresses up as a female Scottish housekeeper to be able to interact with his children. It won the Academy Award for Best Makeup and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Robin Williams was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actor.


The film based on the Phogat family, tells the inspiring story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, an amateur wrestler, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become India’s first world-class female wrestlers


The critically acclaimed film is based on a rare genetic condition known as progeria and places emphasis on a father-son relationship. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, in real life, are father and son respectively, but in Paa, they played opposite roles.

102 Not Out

102 Not Out is a very unusual father and son love story that sees Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor together after 27 years. Dattatrya, (Amitabh Bachan), the 102- year old father, who has a child in him still alive while Babu, (Rishi Kapoor), the 75 year old son is eccentric and does not live his life to the fullest.  Feed up with Babu’s surly Dattatraya secedes to send him to old age home unless he accepts the challenges thrown at him. The premise appears to hold promise on a paper which will help Babu relook at the gift of ‘Life’.
