Avinesh Rekhi and Shrenu Parekh shine in the Sati–Shiva track of Ganesh Kartikey.

Avinesh Rekhi and Shrenu Parekh are delivering remarkable performances in Sony Sab’s mythological show Ganesh Kartikey, which narrates the divine story of Lord Shiva and his family. The makers are now bringing one of the most emotional and intense chapters of mythology to the screen — the story of Goddess Sati and Lord Shiva.

The tale of Sati and Shiva is filled with devotion, sacrifice, and destruction. For the sake of Shiva’s honour, Sati immolated herself in the yajna fire after being insulted at her father’s palace. Her sacrifice shook the universe. Overcome with grief and rage, Lord Shiva opened his third eye and performed the fierce Tandav while carrying Sati’s body in his arms. As he wandered in sorrow, parts of Sati’s body fell at different places across the land, which later became the sacred Shaktipiths.

This powerful sequence has been portrayed many times on television, but this version stands out because of the intensity brought by Avinesh Rekhi and Shrenu Parekh. Avinesh, in his first mythological role, perfectly balances Shiva’s calm nature and destructive anger. His expressions, especially through his eyes, reflect deep pain and fury. He portrays the agony of losing a loved one with sincerity.

Shrenu Parekh is equally impactful as Goddess Sati. She beautifully depicts Sati’s devotion, emotional turmoil, and ultimate sacrifice. The self-immolation sequence is performed with grace and conviction, leaving viewers emotional.
