By Gossips Tv : Popular television actor Avinesh Rekhi has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Sony TV’s much-anticipated historical show Prithviraj Chauhan. Produced by Contiloe Productions, the show is set to premiere next month. The channel recently released the promo, introducing veteran actor Ronit Roy as Prithviraj Chauhan’s father. Alongside him, renowned actress Padmini Kolhapure is also part of the cast.
Avinesh Rekhi, known for his roles in Chhoti Sardarrni, Tu Sooraj Mein Sanjh Piyaji, and Udaariyan, is set to bring his strong screen presence to this grand historical drama. His character details are yet to be revealed, but sources confirm that he will play a crucial role in the storyline.
Prithviraj Chauhan, one of the greatest Rajput kings of India, ruled the Chahamana (Chauhan) dynasty in the 12th century. Known for his valor and military prowess, he expanded his empire across Rajasthan, Delhi, and parts of Madhya Pradesh. His most famous battle was against Muhammad Ghori in the First Battle of Tarain (1191), where he emerged victorious. However, in the Second Battle of Tarain (1192), he was defeated and later captured by Ghori. His story is legendary, filled with tales of bravery, romance, and tragic downfall.
