Colors have decided to pull the plug on its historical (1920 Bengal) women emancipation show Barrister Babu; sometime in early November.

We have the dates but are not putting them out as tv time schedules often get pushed.

Rishi Khurana, who plays, male lead Anirudh Roy Choudhary’s( Pravisht Mishra ) uncle, Trilochan Roy Choudhary, confirmed the same, saying,” We have got the confirmation only; a day or two back.”

.He, too, refused to speculate on an end date for ” the story will have to be rewritten to bring about an ending. Some portions will be chopped as we always have a bank.”

"The shoot is on hold for the moment to meet the above creative changes," added Rishi, who has done several shows such as Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Saas Bina Sasural and Bani – Ishq Da Kalma.

Our source wondered as to why Color wants to end a brand property. There were many stories left to tell; We had not even reached independence day. The dubbing of Barrister Bab in six languages itself should tell the tale.

This Shashi Sumeet Mittal production had begun with child Bondita (Aurra BhatnagarBadoni )getting married to the woke protagonist Anirudh.

The show had only recently got a leap with Anchal Sahu replacing Aura as the grown-up Bondita

There was some buzz that the leap did not work as planned.

However, Pravisht does not feel so, “ I have enjoyed both phases

when asked why the channel might have taken such a decision, he just said,” Covid has just taught me that life is uncertain, and we must learn to live with it.”

In closing, Rishi added that ” It would always be better if the channel gave us more prep time. ” For now, we all have to start looking for work afresh. Having been around for years, I am geared up for this challenge, but not sure about the newer crop of actors. [Written By- ANIL MERANI]
