The episode starts with Neelam saying she will always love those who love her son and that there is a person who loves Rishi wholeheartedly and selflessly. Neelam says she is going to give the Sargi to that person today. She adds that this person raised the family’s child even when she was alone and Rishi wasn’t with her. Rishi, Harleen, and Ayush assume Neelam is talking about Lakshmi. However, Neelam walks past Lakshmi and gives the Sargi to Malishka. Malishka feels like she’s on cloud nine. Karishma and Aanchal tell Neelam that she is right, saying Malishka is the one who raised Rohan alone since Rishi was always busy with work. Malishka thanks Neelam, and Lakshmi, witnessing this, becomes upset and leaves. Rishi follows Lakshmi and apologizes for what happened. Lakshmi says it’s not his fault but hers, as she forgot that she came here only as Parvati’s mother and that Malishka, not her, is the daughter-in-law of this house. Harleen then calls for Lakshmi, and Rishi and Lakshmi go to her.
Harleen takes the Sargi from Malishka and asks Lakshmi to accept it. Harleen tells Lakshmi that she has the right to give Sargi to her because Lakshmi granted her this right by giving her a granddaughter. Neelam questions Harleen’s actions, but Harleen reminds her that as her mother-in-law, she has this right. Harleen tells Lakshmi that she knows Lakshmi came downstairs expecting something and insists she accept the Sargi. Lakshmi accepts the Sargi from Harleen and tries to take Neelam’s blessings, but Neelam leaves.
Meanwhile, Balwinder looks at photos of both Malishka and Lakshmi. Bablu brings him tea, and Balwinder tells Bablu that his “Bhabhi” has changed and is now Malishka, not Lakshmi. Bablu reminds Balwinder of what Malishka said about never being together with him, and Balwinder makes a comment about it.
Later, Karishma and Malishka approach Neelam. Karishma questions why she allowed Lakshmi to observe the Karwa Chauth fast. Neelam explains that while she can understand Malishka questioning it, Karishma should already know the truth. She says she doesn’t want Lakshmi to perform this Karwa Chauth ritual, but Harleen insists on it and reminds them of all that Harleen has been through. Neelam says she can’t go against Harleen today. Malishka sarcastically asks if Neelam would also agree if Harleen wanted Rishi and Lakshmi to marry again. Neelam replies that on any other day, she wouldn’t agree to this, but today is Karwa Chauth, and she can’t hurt Harleen.
Lakshmi later joins the kids. They tell her they made a robot but couldn’t show it to their teacher because she is also observing Karwa Chauth. Lakshmi asks Rohan and Parvati if they would like to show her the robot, and they say it is in their practical class. Rishi arrives and tells the kids he spoke to the Principal, who said she is very impressed with their robot. Rohan and Parvati then ask Rishi to place a black mark on Lakshmi to ward off the evil eye, which he agrees to do. Malishka sees this and becomes furious.
