Bigg Boss 19 Grand Premiere: A Random and Rushed Start – Will It Hit TRPs?

Bigg Boss season 19, one of television’s most anticipated reality shows, finally premiered last night. However, unlike its previous seasons that have managed to grab instant attention with a dhamakedar entry, this year’s premiere episode left fans with mixed reactions.

The grand premiere felt rushed and random, with Salman Khan introducing contestants abruptly without the usual dose of drama, entertainment, and excitement that the show is known for. Fans expressed their disappointment on social media, saying the episode lacked the thrill and intensity that Bigg Boss traditionally delivers on its very first day.

One of the biggest drawbacks that viewers pointed out was the lack of interaction, communication, and strategies among the housemates during the premiere. In past seasons, the first episode often showcased fiery personalities, budding alliances, or dramatic conflicts. This time, however, the house seemed unusually calm and the contestants’ behavior failed to spark curiosity.

Despite the dull start, a handful of contestants managed to trend online. Among them were:

  • Amaal Malik: The Bollywood singer entered the house aiming to challenge his own potential. His entry created some buzz on X (formerly Twitter).
  • Baseer Bob (Basir Ali): Known for Kundali Bhagya and his stint in reality shows like Splitsvilla, Baseer drew attention after his introduction.
  • Gaurav Khanna: The actor, who once participated in Celebrity MasterChef, gained positive hype post-premiere.
  • Mridul Tiwari: Managed to trend with fan discussions across social platforms.
  • Abhishek Bajaj: Fresh out of his appearance in Jubilee Talkies, he entered the Bigg Boss house with an already rising fanbase.
  • Ashnoor Kaur: the youngest TV star has entered the show to create a history.

While these contestants succeeded in creating some online chatter, the overall vibe of the episode was underwhelming. Many fans even questioned if the random mix of contenders this year will be able to deliver the expected high-voltage drama and entertainment.

With 16 contestants now locked inside the house, the real test begins. Bigg Boss has always been about unpredictable twists, heated arguments, and strong personalities clashing under one roof. Whether season 19 will manage to rise above its dull opening and capture the audience’s interest is yet to be seen.

The question now is — will this slow start affect the TRPs, or will the drama pick up in the coming weeks and turn the tide in Bigg Boss’s favor?
