Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s historical series, an extension of their globally hit show Porus, Chandragupta Maurya in under a major makeover with their 5-year leap taking shape & will see a host of newer characters being introduced.
Actor Faisal Khan .recently came on board to step into the shoes of Kartikey Malviya & will play young Chandragupta Maurya. Since the show has been an extension of Porus, some of the characters that also played a key role in the Mauryan empire & were instrumental in the Magadha Kingdom to assume power over large tracts of eastern & northern India were repeated in Chandragupta Maurya. While Vikas Verma continued to play Seleucus Nicator in both the shows, Ankur Nayyar now joins the team to play Ambikumar, earlier played by Zohaib Siddiqui.
Now we hear child artist Dhan Tejas who played son to Porus makes a re-entry in Chandragupta Maurya albeit for a week. A source close to the show adds, ‘Â Dhan Tejas who plays Malyaketu is already in a pit where Chandragupta & Chankaya are pushed into by Seleucus & Ambikumar. Later on, Chandragupta goes on to make Malyaketu the king of Taxila. However, Dhan Tejas will be with us for a week & later we will transition into his teenage self.’Â

‘Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai’ actor Rohit Chandel has been cast to play Ambikumar’s son. Also, actor Kaivalya Chheda who’s been a part of the host of Television shows as a child artist previously joins Faisal Khan as his show now as an adult & will be seen in the role of Sthool,’ the source adds.
