Just Showbiz recently had a candid chat with the bold and beautiful model and actor Vedita Pratap Singh in regards of her upcoming movies and her journey in acting so far. Let’s see what the gorgeous lady had to say.
Excerpts:
How was your experience working opposite Faisal Khan in your upcoming movie Danger, a Psychotic Thriller/Horror(2017)?
I think he is an extremely patient person. If there is any sort of trouble  or delay on sets, he never said anything. He is the coolest co-artist I have worked till date. I might have cribbed sometimes (chuckles) about a few things but he never ever complained.
How is your experience working in JD and what JD actually stands for?
Journalism Defined, that’s what JD stands for. The film was produced and directed by a real life journalist (Shailendra Pandey). The story is his and the plot deals with the connection between journalist and politicians. How their world collides in every level and the outcome of it is what the movie deals with. I am also playing a journalist in the movie.
Tell us something about your role in Danger.
Danger is basically a psychological thriller. There is a lot twist and turns in the film. We are a Gujrati couple in the film though my character is more today’s from the any authentic Gujrati girl whereas Faisal plays a more traditional character in the movie.
You have been doing variety of roles starting from critically acclaimed film Bhindi Bazaar INC then Mumbai 125 KM which was a horror genre and now JD where you are portraying a character of journalist, how you prepare yourself for variety of roles?
I don’t play a character just for the sake of it. I want to play roles where my acting skills can be seen. I do films where the characters excite me. I know I can act and I have potential and I like to do roles where I can show them.
Which medium you find more comfortable in working?Â
I am an actor for me as long as I am happy with what I am playing I don’t mind it is television or film. As long as the role I am playing excites me and lets me explore the different shades of my acting I am comfortable in any platform.
Out of three Khans, who is your favourite?
I like all of them with little more inclination towards Aamir Khan.
Which kind of movie gives you more satisfaction as an actor?
See as in actor if your really have the passion and believe in your craft then no matter what you do, you always will be satisfied when you get to do something challenging. Roles and character that make you feel out of your depth and pushes you to learn and achieve something more every day and that’s what gives me satisfaction. Trying something new and challenging with every role is a learning process.
There are lots of woman centric movies coming up in recent days, which movie you find connects with you and has the potential of changing perspective of women in the society?
I really can’t pinpoint one movie. It‘s a really slow process. Films are reflection of the society . No matter what our society is male dominated. But it is changing. Though it will take a lot of time to show the change in the surface prominently. So I don’t think I cannot point one film that can make some difference but films are releasing and makers are making such movies.  I believe with time they all will make a difference in changing where there would not be a dominant gender but they will all work as a team to make progress.
What is your dream role?
There is nothing like a ‘dream’ role. But I really liked Sridevi in Chaalbaaz. She is so brilliant in the movie and the roles she played are completely different from each other. And it is not easy. So if I get an opportunity I would love to play something like that.
