Diljot Chhabra, who was seen in the TV series Ziddi Dil Maane Na, is all set for her huge star-cast film to release. After Ziddi Dil Maane Na, the actor made sure she made the right next move. Working with Akshay Kumar was a career boost she enjoyed, and she looks forward to more meaty roles.

  1. How did you land the film?

The director, Muddasar Aziz Sir, had seen my work earlier, and he made his team connect with me. I auditioned for this part, and it fit well in the way he had visualized me, and before I even knew it, I was locked into it.

  1. How has your experience working with Akshay and the team been?

I had done an ad film with Akshay Sir a few years ago. Sharing the screen with him on a film set was definitely a huge thing for me and a career boost. I remember meeting Akshay sir in the gym of my hotel as the shoot was going to begin. I introduced myself, and he was so humble. We even spoke about our scenes together, and his energy on sets is so infectious.

  1. Is film a different ballgame altogether, or is an actor always an actor?

Of course it is. Working in a film gives you a different vibe, which is a different ball game altogether. The feeling of being on a film set and working with a huge cast is lovely. But my approach to the character, regardless of the platform, remains the same: I study it and give it my best, and that stays. I do not adjust the quality of my performance as per the platform; I am an actor, irrespective of the medium.

  1. Next, what can we expect from you?

I want challenging roles wherever I can give my best. I want to be seen more on screen and play characters I have dreamt of, which helps me grow as an actor. I don’t restrict myself to one platform alone. I am a hungry actor and am here fighting for meaty roles.

  1. Why have we not seen you on screen for a while?

I take my graphy very seriously after playing such a strong character of a special agent in Ziddi Dil Maane Na. I did not want to take up anything that came my way; I wanted to take the right next step. I waited, and this film came about. As an actor, I feel one needs to have the ability to wait and be patient, and while the wait is on, one needs to put in efforts in one self to better yourself and hone your self better.

  1. If not an actor, what would you have been?

I love yoga, I bake well, and I do a lot of things well, but there is nowhere else I would rather be than on sets. Being an actor has kept me alive, and it’s a blessing.
