Exclusive: Female TV actors’ net cine role for glamour and not craft -Vishal Aditya Singh

By Anil Merani: Vishal Aditya Singh is quite happy with his recently wrapped-up show Sampoorna (co-stars Sudipta Sen and Aham Sharma). ” I had a blast. I was also creatively satisfied, for I got to do a show that revolved around me. Usually, TV shows are mostly female-driven.”

Looking ahead, Vishal, who has been around for over a decade doing consistent good work (Begusarai, Chandrakanta, Chand Jalne Laga), wants to explore directing. I have a few scripts. Sadly, though, our industry prefers the tried-and-tested and hedges newcomers out.”

Apart from fiction, Vishal has rocked the reality scene with Nach Baliye 9, Bigg Boss 13, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11.

Vishal further adds that he is devoted to the industry and will be here for decades to come.” Single-handed devotion to one craft is essential for success. Many TV actors sail in different boats, hence end up reaching nowhere.”

Looking ahead, Vishal wants to take on out-of-the-box roles. I would love to essay the ‘desi joker’; however, I am not sure if I will be able to go beyond the staple, as TV makers dont want to experiment. I also want to try my hand at OTT/cinema, as they offer a variety of genres,” he added.

When asked why more TV female leads have crossed over to cinema than males?, Vishal says he doesn’t see it as a true crossover. Most TV actresses who move to films are often cast for their glam appeal.”

He regards Sakshi Tanwar as a genuine crossover star because she has delivered impactful roles in both mediums, highlighting his perspective on industry trends and crossover success.

“Shahrukh Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput are other known TV stars who rocked celluloid. ended he
