Hiba Nawab is very happy being back at Jijaji Chhat Parr Koii Hai( Sab TV) set after a Covid- 19 hiatus.
” Unlike other shows which moved out of their home bases to beat the Mumbai lockdown ( April- May), we had to take a break for our horror genre required the logistics provided by our set.”
“I am so thrilled at being back at work; It is a breeze associating with production house Edit 2; this is my second back to back outing with them. Jijaji Chhat Parr Koii Hai is a sequel to two years running hit show Jijaji Chhat Per Hain(ended 2020) . We had barely started shooting for the new season in early 2021 when the coronavirus second wave wreaked its havoc.”
Hiba seems to love comedy; she first experimented with this genre with the ill-fated Bhaag Bakool Bhaag.

So how did you pass your time during the recent lockdown?
“I returned home to Bareilly, where I tried to take care of my physical and mental health. I will soon be double jabbed. I request everyone to get vaccinated as well.”
When asked as to what makes the Jijaji franchise a hit? , “This time, we have added a horror element to comedy; two families are clashing over a haunted haveli(mansion). You won’t find such type of content on the desi tube today.
“My fans also love my double role avatar, and I am thankful for their continued support and blessings(Started her adult acting with Tere Sheher Mei back in 2015). It is excellent fun to be able to experience two different eras in one show ( the ghost’s backstory and today ) Hiba, a horror buff since childhood, would next love to dabble in hardcore spookfest,” here given SAB TV sensibilities, we are treating it light-heartedly.”
Which supernatural/ paranormal flicks do you like the most? “Apart from the animation series, Shut the Door, I am a big buff of the Conjuring series ( I loved the possessed bit ).” Having been around for long, would you now want to try your hands at the non-fiction genre?” I am afraid of Bigg Boss having heard how difficult the format is from several of my past season’s inmate friends. Bigg Boss makers have continuously reached out to me for the past four years, but I always turned them down as luckily as I have work. (Does she mean most contestants agreed to get locked up as they are out of work?) I never say never, so maybe in the distant future, I might accept, when prepared.”
Hiba, who loves to binge OTT content, would love herself to try out the varied digital concepts, “but the nudity which abounds the format is a strict no-no.”
