By Anil Merani| Talented actor Karan V Grover is back with one more show, i.e. Â Sab TV sci-fi Dhruv Tara. He plays King Maharaj Suryapratap Singh. We met with Karan for a quick chat on the show and his coveted tube journey, which includes hit shows like Oh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Hum Aapke Hain In Laws, etc. He has also done a film titled Wedding Pulav. Â Karan continues to impress one and all as the cute husband on the OTT show SIT.
How is it to play a king?
It is challenging because of the get-up, costume, and speaking in clean, pure language; it gives me an excellent opportunity to learn better Hindi and hone my verbal skills.
How are you working out the character internally?
Internally, I always believe in the feel of a character and what vibe he exuberates. So, I work on how anyone watching him can imagine an ideal man/king persona.
What is your take on the fantasy genre?
I love fantasy as a viewer, plus time travel is my favorite science fiction.
How has your TV journey been so far?
It is highly fulfilling, and I only feel immense gratitude for the love I have received. Yahan tikke rahena ka kya mool mantra hai?
Value everyone’s time, especially the productions you are involved with and try to deliver more than anyone expects.
You have been part of SIT for a long time. What makes you stick to it?
SIT is a group of friends having a blast while making some light-hearted, relevant content. Creator and director Mohit Hussain is the backbone of this venture, with Chhavi Mittal being the driving force.
Web vs TV?
Both have engaging content, and other than the number of episodes being the primary difference, both need relatable characters in engrossing stories to hold onto the fast-changing interest of the viewer.
Lastly, I hope TV programming continues to experiment with high concepts like Dhruv Tara in traditional family setups.
