By Anil Merani| Talented actor Aniruddh Dave is turning producer. He and Patiala Babes co-star Paridhi Sharma are hosting a career guidance show, Siikho, for D.D. National. Mr Vishal Salacha is the primary producer whose aim is to spread the idea of career guidance to every village in the country.
“It will air every Sunday at 8 pm from 3rd September. Our premier episode will focus on the teaching profession. Interestingly, 5th September is Teacher’s Day. We also had a special episode on Independence Day, focusing on careers in the army and navy, which got a considerable viewership.” says Aniruddh, who has done tube shows like Raajkumar Aaryyan, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki and Mera Naam Karegi Roshan etc.”
“Our series will focus on 52 professions including I.T., Medicine (doctors and nurses), Merchant Navy and Startup.”
“Our chat-based format provides free career guidance to millions of Indians who can’t afford career guidance counsellors—a boon to parents and children. We even inform students about what challenges they will face on the job and the growth options. “says Anriuddh, who played a robot in Y.A.R.O. Ka Tashan.
Why Doordarshan over Satellite T.V.? ” Private networks only cover big cities while the national pubcaster reaches the length and breadth of the country. Also, off late, DD.’s quality has improved with newer shows,” added Aniruddh, who has also done movies like Tere Sang, Shorgul and Bell Bottom.
He says, “Instead of hosting a dance show, career guidance series anchoring is a more significant challenge as we speak to experts(I.P.S. officer and C.A. topper etc) in their respective fields, so we have to brush up our knowledge and speak without a teleprompter. “

Aniruddh will next be seen in the flick Kaagaz 2 with Anupam Kher, delayed due to the death of actor and director Satish Kaushik.
He will continue to be part of T.V., “but I have always been selective about my roles. I am never part of a mundane saas-bahu shows.”
