By Anil Merani: Good-looking and talented actor Shagun Pandey has finally opened up about his alleged altercation on the Ghum Hai Kisi key Pyaar Meiin set. The media widely reported that Shagun, who is supposed to be romantically involved with negative lead Sumit Singh, had angrily entered the set when he heard she was getting cosy with a co-star earlier this year.

After so long, he has kept his side of the story in an interview. According to Shagun, he had simply gone to Ghum set to render medical assistance to a friend. Interestingly, he did not even name his friend.

Shagun, a versatile actor, has showcased his talent in shows like: Shubharambh, Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye, Tujhse Hai Raabta

He also questioned the fact that if he had acted violently, why did the producers of Ghum not take action against him?

He further defended his silence, saying that if he had opened his mouth, it would have appeared that he was trying to clarify.

He also criticized the media’s relentless pursuit of sensational news, expressing how the above news had caused more distress to Sumit than to him, being a girl

In closing, he compared his situation to that of Shah Rukh Khan, who also faced media scrutiny when his son was implicated in a fake drug case. Shagun felt he, too, had been wronged.

Here, we like to present our take.

Media, by and large, is responsible. When the news of the alleged altercation broke, most outlets that carried it got it verified by a source who confirmed it had happened. However, it’s important to remember that there are different perspectives on this issue.

Something did happen that day, and it was not innocuous, as   Shagun claimed that he was just there to help his sick friend.

But yes, we don’t know exactly what went down, for had it been severe, he would have faced disciplinary action. Whatever happened, it did stall the shoot for a while.

Karanvir Bohra, who had a cameo in Ghum back then, also confirmed the incident later.

Ideally, one who was an eyewitness to the whole thing should have come forward on the record, but no one wants to risk getting into someone else’s trouble.

Shagun did not answer about his relationship with Sumit; he just called her a friend, which is not the whole story.

Also, why did Shagun remain quiet then? He could have easily gotten his view across through source quotes as usual. That would have addressed his clarification concern.

He is wrong to blame all the media. I agree that some do clickbait, but others follow the norms.   His WhatsApp must be full of messages asking what went wrong, as we all want something new to stand out.

Actors like Shagun think that if they don’t give a quote, the media should not run the story. Sorry, brother, this is not how we function.

We allow you to have your say; if not, the story will still run.

Last but not least, it was too much on Shagun’s part to compare himself to the Badshah of Bollywood. His case was quite different from Aryan drug case (I don’t want to say more)

It would be better for Shagun to concentrate on his work. He is a good artist and can go places. Sadly, human emotions do spoil the party.

The maker of his current show, Mera Balam Thanedaar, must not have been happy with all this noise, hoping it would not lead to consequences later.
