Sony TV, known for its unique plots and content-worthy shows, is planning to remake its popular show “Devi,” which originally aired in 2002. The channel currently enjoys huge popularity on social media with shows like “Kavya,” “Dabangii,” “Mehendi Wala Ghar,” and “Shrimad Ramayan.”

According to our well-placed sources, the remake of “Devi” is in the works. The original series starred Sakshi Tanwar, Mohnish Behl, and Juhi Parmar and revolved around the story of Gayatri, an orphan who believes in Goddess Durga. Gayatri lives with her kind-hearted uncle and contends with an evil aunt and husband, Vikram.

The production of the remake is in its initial phases, with many popular actors being approached to play the lead role originally portrayed by Sakshi Tanwar. Notable names such as Sargun Kaur Luthra and Niyati Fatnani were considered for the role but, due to undisclosed reasons, will not be participating in the show.

Casting is still in the early stages, and the production team is working diligently to finalize the cast. The remake is expected to go on floors by August, promising to bring the beloved story back to the screens with a fresh cast and modern twist.
