By Gossips TV : Boyhood Productions’ upcoming television drama Mukkabaaz has reportedly locked Fahmaan Khan and Janhvi Soni as its lead pair after weeks of casting discussions and multiple changes. The boxing-based drama, which has already generated considerable buzz in the television industry, was earlier linked with actors Harshad Chopda and later Zain Imam for the male lead role.
According to the latest developments, Zain Imam is no longer associated with the project, with Fahmaan Khan now finalised to headline the show opposite Janhvi Soni. Reports suggest that Harshad Chopda was initially in advanced talks for the drama before the deal failed to materialise. Following that, Zain Imam reportedly entered discussions and was being strongly considered for the role before eventually opting out.
The show’s storyline is said to be one of the biggest highlights of the project. Mukkabaaz revolves around a man who once aspired to become a successful boxer but could never fulfil his dream. Years later, he discovers immense potential in a young woman and decides to mentor her, guiding her journey into the competitive boxing world. As she rises through the ranks, the story explores themes of ambition, resilience, emotional struggles, redemption, and determination.
The makers are reportedly confident that the emotionally driven sports drama will strike a chord with viewers. Apart from Fahmaan Khan and Janhvi Soni, actors Yash Tonk and Swattee Thakur are also expected to play pivotal negative roles in the show.
The remaining casting process is currently underway, and the shoot is expected to commence once the ensemble is fully finalised.
