By Anil Merani: Teri Meri Doriyaanan fans will be left misty-eyed when their favourite Star Plus wraps on 14th July.
This unique offering from Cockcrow and Shaika Entertainment, Teri Meri Doriyaanan, garnered a lot of love in its 7 pm slot.
Vijayendra Kumeria, Himanshi Parashar, and the supporting cast took the show to new heights.
The show’s makers beautifully showcased the Punjabi culture. Vijayendra’s portrayal as the Sardar lead was so authentic that it attracted a massive audience in Delhi, Punjab, and the Haryana belt.
Himanshi, understanding her huge opportunity, grabbed it with both hands and went on to essay Sahiba with elegance and poise.
The production house supported the cast with excellent writing, execution, and directorial skills. The channel also duly chipped in with creative and marketing support.
Team TMD’s dedication and hard work have paid off, as the show has defied the odds and lasted longer than most series today. This is a testament to the show’s quality and the team’s commitment.
Agreed fans were miffed at the story, but that always happens for the emotional stans dont understand the business behind the madness. Creative and financial needs are both essential. You can’t sacrifice one for the other.
Also, wailing online fans dont add to the core TRP janta. No doubt digital reach is increasing, but it still needs to be made the whole and sole decider.
The show’s attempts to introduce new characters and storylines were in response to the evolving preferences of today’s audience. The days of long-running shows are becoming rare, and TMD’s efforts to adapt should be appreciated.
But in closing, I wish to point out that TMD fans let down the show. No wonder the ratings came tumbling down from 1.5 to 0.8. The fans needed to support the show when the story did go awry, which did happen. Had they done so the show would have continued to entertain you.
