ZEE5 has always been at the forefront of creating and delivering great content to viewers. Even during the pandemic, the video streaming platform continues to present fresh Original content – from films like Pareeksha, Chintu Ka Birthday, Yaara, Bamfaad, Ghoomketu to web series like Lalbazaar, Mafia and most recently, Churails. The OTT player is the only one to start shooting in the lockdown with units following and maintaining all the restrictions and safety guidelines that have been set. Naxalbari, one of the most awaited Originals, is currently being shot in Goa.

One of India’s famous most loved television actors, Aamir Ali, is all set to make his digital debut with Naxalbari. He will be seen playing an intriguing character in the show.

I wanted to play a character which is distinct and mysterious at the same time. I’m excited to be of part of Naxalbari and can’t wait for my fans to witness a character that I have never played before. We have been shooting in Goa and the experience is really very different, but I must admit the sort of dedication and hard work the crew put into work in this situation is heart-warming and commendable. Naxalbari is an interesting subject and all the actors in the show have come together to deliver something brilliant. This one is going to be a show like no other”, shares Aamir.

The eight-episode action-packed series is a fictional account of the protagonist’s fightback against a red uprising. It is a race against time for Raghav (Rajeev Khandelwal) – a cop, who is up against all odds to save the day. An action-packed series that alternates between the dense jungles of Maharashtra and metropolitan cities which increasingly become hotbeds for the Naxal ideology.

Apart from Aamir Ali (Keswani), the star cast includes Rajeev Khandelwal (as Raghav), Tina Datta (as Ketki), Sreejita Dey (as Prakriti), Satyadeep Mishra (as Pahan), Shakti Anand (as Binu Atram) in prominent roles.

The show is directed by Partho Mitra and produced by GSEAMS (Arjun & Kartik).
