By Anil Merani:  Indian TV can be unpredictable when it comes to ratings. If a show doesn’t perform well, all sorts of measures are taken to boost viewership. However, if the ratings don’t improve, the channel may abruptly end the show without a proper conclusion.

The creators of the Sony TV show Dabangii—Mulgii Aayi Re Aayi deserve a standing ovation for their relentless efforts in giving the show a satisfying and logical ending. The show will be replaced by Jublie Talkies on June 24 at the 8:30 p.m. slot.

Here, the writers have taken pains to ensure that all loose ends are tied correctly, satisfying the viewer.

This Rachna Mistry and Rrahul Sudhir-led show has been quick-paced and has never dragged.

Dabangii, which started as a brother clash between cop Ankush (Manav Gohil) and gangster Satya( Aamir  Dalvi), had taken a leap, which saw Arya growing up (Rachna)  and  Ekya/Yug (Rrahul) joining as govt spy against Satya, who has now also turned politician.

However despite its intriguing storyline, the show could not sustain TRP, and soon, it became clear that it could not last forever. Eventually, the channel pulled the plug.

Fortunately, the production house Invictus T Mediaworks was given ample time to wrap up the show, setting a hopeful precedent for other struggling shows. The loyal audience, who invested their time, deserve a proper closure to avoid feeling cheated.

Aamir, who plays Satya, says he has no clue because his character was shown being hospitalized. ” After that, the production house has not contacted me for the next round of shoots. As an actor, I feel that shows should run for only 6-8 months, thereby getting creative satisfaction, lest we go on doing the same show for years at the end.”
