The episode starts with Bu Yeon saying Jang Uk about her memories and Jang Uk gets confused with the similarities. They both spot Seo Yul who’s there to save So Yi. Ho Kyung is abut to poison So Yi saying that there is a way to get rid of the blood parasite when she refuses to answer who else know about Naksu’s secret. Just them servant calls her saying Jang Uk is there to meet her. While she’s away Seo Yul and Bu Yeon goes to rescue So Yi. They rescue her when So Yi indirectly asks Bu Yeon that if she really thinks she’s Bu Yeon. Jang Uk visits Jinyowon with Ho Kyung’s permission. Ho Kyung ask why would Master Lee not ask her directly about the fire bird and send him to check upon it. Jang Uk bluntly says that he doesn’t trust her enough to do so. She tried justifying herself when he calls her out for her behavior towards Bu Yeon. So Yi says Seo Yul that Bu Yeon’s body as Nak Su’s soul in her and that her face also resembles Nak Su. Seo Yul gets shocked hearing it when So Yi asks him to use the news to threaten ho Kyung to say the way to get rid of the parasite. Seo Yul gets emotional finally learning the truth and hugs her making comfort as the reason. Bu Yeon finds him severely ill but he wants her to keep it from Jang Uk. Jang Uk asks him the reason for saving So Yi. He replies that she is the one who took care of him inside the barrier and he’s just returning the favor.
Ho Kyung learns that someone saved So Yi and gets worried that the truth would go out. Lady Heo confirms to Jang Uk that it’s So Yi who even tried to give her blood to Seo Yul in the barrier. So Yi asks Seo Yul to keep about Bu Yeon’s identity from Jang Uk a secret as they would need it to use it against Ho Kyung to find the solution. Seo Yul gets the nightmare of Naksu killing him a nd Seo Yul says it’s because of the memories he holds on to. She gets shocked when he says that even he was aware that Mu Doek was Naksu. Jang Uk takes away Bu Yeon with him upon knowing that Bu Yeon is friends with Seo Yul. She says about the times they met and how they become friends. Jang Uk gets jealous when she says that she wouldn’t have run away if Seo Yul was her groom. Maidservant Kim says Jang Uk about her being betrothed to Park Jin. He gets extremely elated about the same. Park Jin finds more fire bird statues and tightens the security by checking all the boats which come from volcano side. Seo Yul’s uncle have no option but ditch the fire birds in Lake Gyeoncheondaeho due to the tight security. His servants did as they were told.
Jang Uk informed Master Lee about checking with the fire bird’s egg which is not yet hatched. Master Lee reveals that once drought takes place then the ice stone will fall from the sky but it could be the end of the world. Jang Uk shows no interest in saving the world. Jin Mu requests the King to reward Jang Uk by sending him to the North Fortress as appreciation for getting rid of Naksu. King is unsure about the place’s safety but he convinces him saying that they have Crown Prince who’s King’s Star. Go Won understands Jin Mu’s plan. Master Lee says about his real father. Jang Uk recalls learning the truth from Park Jin who says to him that his birth is mistake or sin. Mater Lee reminds him that dying is better than doing nothing to save the world. Bu Yeon helps Park Jin find all the fire bird statues that got ditched in the lake. He appreciates her divine powers when she says that she’s getting her memories back slowly along with her divine powers. Cho Yeon visits Queen who seems to have Cho Yeon’s body using soul shifting and Cho Yeon’s feels strange under her gaze.
Bu Yeon is on boat with Park Jin’s men to find more statues. When she crosses the bridge she again gets a memory of hanging on the bridge. Go Won wants to leave the palace as he feels suffocated. He goes to see his turtle when he finds Bi Yeon already there. Bu Yeon gets surprised when the turtle has food only with his hands. He asks if her husband still sees the peacock and she say that she feels upset as she is someone else’s room. She wants to find a room for herself. Go Won suggests her to come to him if she feels done and also says that he feels the same about his place. She leaves seeing Park Jin’s men. Go Won thinks to visit Jang Uk. He finds him reading about the fire bird when he passes on to him about the King’s reward. He thought he wouldn’t go but Jang Uk says that he’s ready to leave. HE also reveals that he helped the Turtle thinking it to be of Eunuch Oh’s. Go Won expresses indirectly that he’s disappointed with the decision to not wanting to save the world. He says the same words as Master Lee.
Jang Uk finds Bu Yeon searching for the tall tree which she saw in her memories. So Yi finds Seo Yul in pain and pleads him to visit Ho kyung but reveals that he voluntarily took it upon himself out of guilt. Ho Kyung says indirectly that the fire bird is the one which could get rid of the blood parasite. Master Lee gets worried upon learning that Bu Yeon is getting his memories back as her body would soon reject her if she does. Bu Yeon flaunts the badge she got and Jang Uk says about how his Master trained him hard to get it. She says the same words as Master Lee and hugs him to comfort him. Jin Mu lashes out at Seo Yul’s uncle for not getting the job done and wants to give the work back to So Yi. He believes she won’t leave him until the parasite inside her. On the other hand, Seo Yul sends her off to Seoho Fortress and she pleads him to find a way to stay alive. Park Jin and Maidservant Kim were discussing about their wedding but she’s more interested in Jang Uk’s wedding. He gets jealous at first that she prioritizes him but hey both soon realize that it’s the situation that decides everything.
Bu Yeon expresses her wish to Dang Gu to take her Danhyanggok where there is a tallest tree but So Yul offers her to take there. She agrees to go with him. Jang Uk is confused between the similarities between NAksu and Bu Yeon and goes to check in her room if she really doesn’t carry the jade. She comes there and shows the jade in her drawer. She also says about her plans with Seo Yul and he again gets jealous but agrees. Seo Yul plans to kill himself as well s Naksu after taking her to the tree. Master Heo finds him ill but he refuses to let him check him. So Yi returns back to the gambling place to help Seo Yul but gets captured by Jin Mu’s men. Her assistant informs it to Seo Yul who’s about o leave with Bu Yeon. He rushes to her and fights to save her but So Yi while trying to save Seo Yul and breathes her last in his arms. They were about to kill Seo Yul too as they found that he has the blood parasite now. In the meantime, Bu Yeon told Jang Uk about Seo Yul’s condition to Jang Uk. He comes to rescue Seo Yul and gets furious seeing his condition. He swears to end them all.
