Manish Goel Anupamaa’s journey in its final leg

By Anil Merani: Good things come in small packages, and this saying perfectly describes talented actor Manish Goel’s role as Raghav in Anupamaa. Manish’s character will soon come to an end, as he is set to wrap up his shooting in the next two or three days.

According to our source, Manish is extremely happy with how the character has developed, aligning closely with what producer Rajan Shahi initially described. Raghav, who has had a troubled past, was always intended to be a cameo—a character with a specific purpose in the storyline. As the narrative progresses, it’s often best to conclude arcs on a high note, preserving the impact and integrity of the character.

Manish enjoyed playing a character who underwent significant growth in a short period. Raghav evolved from a man burdened by his past to someone who has found comfort in life, mainly due to Anupamaa’s influence, added our source.

When asked about the absence of romantic elements between Raghav and Anupamaa, the source explained, “To be honest, portraying romance between Anupamaa and Raghav was always a challenge, given Anupamaa’s age. Therefore, it was more effective to depict their friendship and how she assists him in reforming.”

Manish consistently expressed to Rajan that he wanted to portray a strong character, and he feels that this has been achieved.

Initially, Manish faced challenges from the audience, who believed he was replacing another actor. However, as the series progressed and his friendship with Anupamaa deepened, he gained acceptance, making his journey on the show even more special, according to our source.

The source also noted, “If Indian society were more evolved, perhaps the creators would have explored romance more deeply. But we need to adhere to existing norms. Today, after a certain age, friendship often matters more than romance, and that’s a reality we must accept and respect.”

Regarding the possibility of Raghav’s return, the source stated, “Please ask Rajanji.” Manish has done his part and will return if he is called back.”
