Get ready to watch the emotions regarding motion once again on the silver screen as Piku is re-releasing in theatres coming Friday.
We are not quite sure about who started the trend of re-releasing the old movies in theatre after a few years of the original release but we are not complaining about it at all. It’s because of this trend we have got the opportunity to watch our favourite movies yet again on the silver screen and re-live the joy.
Starring the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and gorgeous Deepika Padukone, Piku is one of the most beautiful movie we have ever watched and we are so looking forward to watching it yet again on the big screen.
Here are a few reasons to watch it in the theatres if you missed it the first time around –
Performances – The first and foremost reason is of course the stellar performances by Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and late Irrfan Khan.
Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone’s bond as father and daughter on-screen is so endearing and late Irrfan Khan as always a treat to watch.
In our honest opinion, Piku is Deepika Padukone’s best performance ever. Yes, we have considered all of her characters and still arrived at this conclusion.
What can we say about, the living legend Mr. Amitabh Bachchan? When he came with Paa, we thought, it’s the ultimate best he can do, then he came with Piku and we were stunned again so you see, he outshone himself in this one.
Story – For the unversed, Piku showcases the bond between a father and a daughter in such a way that it’s relatable, sometimes funny but altogether heartwarming to watch. When Piku says, “Ek age ke baad Parents apne aap zinda Nahi reh paate, unko zinda rakhna padta hai aur woh zimmedari bacchon ka hi hai!” — we felt ourselves agreeing with her wholeheartedly.
Piku is a movie we did not know our hearts craved for until we watched it.
Realism – The execution of this movie is as real as it can possibly be. The conversations, the dialogues, the scenes, everything feels “apna sa!”
When Amitabh Bachchan hops on a bicycle and roams on the streets of Kolkata, it feels as if that’s the “joy”, which defines the city of joy.Â
In other words, Piku is a film made with heart and for the heart but if you are expecting songs every other minute, heroine in fancy outfits with heavy make-up, illogical fight sequences, cringe in the name of romance then Piku is NOT for you.
