The episode starts with Deepa telling Karthik that he has no right to marry her without her consent. She says that because of his actions, all the false allegations against her have come true. Deepa adds that Kanika had been suspecting from the beginning that she was playing the victim and trying to trap Karthik. She says that by putting sindoor in her hairline, he has made Kanika’s suspicions come true. Deepa criticizes Karthik.
Karthik tells Deepa that he had already told her he married her for Jyoti and says that he is now Jyoti’s father. Deepa replies that he can be Jyoti’s father, but she will never accept him as her husband. She says that she will never accept him as her husband and that, for her, this sindoor is just a red color.
Karthik says he will not force her into a relationship with him. He repeats that he married her only to be a father to Jyoti. Deepa criticizes him again and refuses to accept him as her husband.
Inside Karthik’s house, Jyoti asks Deepa to come with her and says she will show her the new room they will be living in. Kanchan sends Jyoti inside on some pretext.
Kanchan tells Deepa that she did not like what happened, but she still respects their traditions. She says that if a man puts sindoor in a woman’s hairline, it is considered a marriage. Deepa tells Kanchan that she also cannot believe what happened.
Ranjit asks Deepa to stop her drama. He says that she is more responsible for what happened than Karthik. Ranjit asks why she did not stop Karthik when he was putting sindoor in her hairline.
Ranjit lashes out at Karthik, saying he used to be his pride but has ruined his reputation with what he did today. Karthik tells Ranjit that he has done what they taught him. He reminds Ranjit and Kanchan that they always told him to help people as much as he can, and that is why he married Deepa for Jyoti. Ranjit asks Kanchan if she heard what he said. Karthik says they can be upset with him, but it will not change the fact that Deepa is his wife.
Kanchan tells Karthik that he has clearly stated his decision. She says that Deepa might be his wife, but they will never accept her as the daughter-in-law of this house. Kanchan and Ranjit leave.
Karthik asks Deepa not to worry and says they will be upset for a while, but eventually they will accept her. Deepa asks what they will accept when she herself has not accepted this marriage, and she leaves.
Chitralekha goes to Kanika and says that she had warned her many times to beware of Deepa, as she had her eye on Karthik. She says Kanika never listened to her and tells her to cry in a corner now. Kanika asks Chitralekha not to say another word. Kanika takes the gifts given to her by Kanchan and Ranjit for the wedding.
Kanika brings the gifts outside and burns them. She vows to herself that she will take revenge on Deepa.
Ranjit hesitates to call Kanchan because he does not know how to confront the Kothari family after what Karthik has done. He complains to Kanchan about it.
Deepa goes to the Kothari house. Kanika and the Kothari family lash out at her, saying they gave her a home and loved her as part of the family, but she betrayed them. Deepa asks the Kothari family to give her a chance to explain.
Kailashnath approaches Deepa and accuses her of betraying the family. Deepa asks him to listen to her. Kailashnath says that explanations are given for mistakes, not for conspiracies. He lashes out at Deepa and asks her to leave the house.
Karthik receives a call from the doctor. The doctor asks him to come to the hospital, saying she needs to talk to him about Jyoti’s condition. She adds that they cannot discuss it over the phone. Karthik agrees.
Karthik tells Kanchan that he knows she is upset with him. Kanchan says she is hurt because of his actions. Karthik says he married Deepa only for Jyoti and that the doctor had said Jyoti needs to be as happy as possible. He asks Kanchan to make sure Jyoti stays happy.
Jyoti comes to Karthik and says that Deepa is nowhere in the house. Karthik asks her not to worry and says Deepa will return soon and may have gone somewhere. He wonders where Deepa could have gone.
Episode ends.
Precap: After taking a shower, Deepa comes out of the washroom. She tries to put sindoor in her hairline but drops the sindoor box. Jyoti sees this and asks Karthik to put sindoor in Deepa’s hairline. Karthik does so.
Our take: Karthik’s decision, though driven by concern for Jyoti, raises serious questions about consent and trust in a marriage.
Deepa’s refusal to accept the relationship adds emotional intensity and highlights her self-respect.
With Kanika’s revenge brewing and Jyoti’s condition at stake, the drama is only set to escalate further.
