SThe episode starts with Deepa covering her face with Jyoti’s saree pallu. Jyoti asks Deepa why she is hiding her face and tells her to move the saree pallu away if she is uncomfortable. Deepa says she is fine.
Jyoti asks Karthik why Deepa is hiding her face. Karthik tells Jyoti that it is a game and explains that in this game, Deepa should not see his face and vice versa. Jyoti agrees and says she will be the referee for the game. Karthik agrees.
Deepa serves food to Karthik. Jyoti blows the whistle and says that both of them are out. Karthik suggests that they should play the second round. Jyoti agrees.
In the morning, Deepa lights a diya for Karthik’s well-being. Jyoti asks Deepa why she is lighting the diya. Deepa tells Jyoti that she is doing it for Karthik’s long life. Karthik also lights a diya for Deepa and tells Jyoti and Deepa about it.
Kanchan calls the pandit to her home. She thinks that Ranjit should not know what she is doing, as she wants Karthik to be happy. Ranjit arrives and asks the pandit what he is doing there. Kanchan says she called him to bring peace to the house. Ranjit agrees and tells Kanchan to make sure that Karthik and Deepa do not enter the house. Ranjit then leaves.
Kanchan speaks to the pandit about Deepa and Karthik. The pandit tells Kanchan that today is Phulera Dhuj and says that if Karthik and Deepa perform the pooja today, they will be blessed with happiness by Goddess Radha and Lord Krishna. Bantu overhears their conversation and informs Chitralekha about it.
Chitralekha complains to Kanika about Kanchan acting like a hypocrite, as she threw Deepa and Karthik out of the house but is now making them perform a pooja for their well-being. Kanika tells Chitralekha that she will confront Kanchan herself. Chitralekha suggests that they inform Ranjit, as it seems Kanchan has hidden the truth from him, and says he will stop the pooja.
Kanchan calls Karthik and Deepa. She gives them clothes and asks them to sit for the pooja, as it is Phulera Dhuj. Karthik asks Kanchan whether Ranjit knows about this. Kanchan says no. Karthik tells Kanchan that he cannot sit for the pooja. He sends Jyoti away and explains that he does not want differences to arise between Kanchan and Ranjit because of him. Kanchan says she will handle Ranjit, but Karthik still refuses. Kanchan says she is tired of fighting, as she does not know whether to choose her husband or her son. She then leaves.
Karthik asks Deepa what she would do if she were in his place. Deepa tells Karthik that she would choose her mother’s happiness. She adds that Kanchan is the backbone of the house and that they should support her. Karthik agrees.
Karthik goes to Kanchan and apologizes for not understanding her pain. He agrees to sit for the pooja.
Kanika and Chitralekha wait for Ranjit in the parking lot to inform him that Kanchan is conducting the pooja for Karthik and Deepa.
Kanchan prepares for the pooja. Karthik brings clothes for Jyoti. Deepa asks him why he bought clothes for Jyoti. Karthik asks Deepa to think about how Jyoti would feel if she did not have new clothes while they did. Deepa thanks Karthik. Karthik tells Deepa that he does not understand why she agreed to sit for the pooja, as she had never accepted their relationship. Deepa replies that only a mother can understand another mother. Madhu overhears this and comments on it.
The episode ends.
Precap: Karthik puts the mangalsutra around Deepa’s neck and is about to apply sindoor in the parting of her hair at the temple in front of Kanchan, but the Kothari family arrives and interrupts the ritual. Kanika lashes out at Kanchan. Karthik sternly warns the Kothari family that he married Deepa of his own free will. Kailashnath breaks all ties with Karthik’s family and leaves.
Our take: This episode beautifully highlights a mother’s silent sacrifice and a son’s emotional dilemma between love and family.
Kanchan’s hidden efforts and Karthik’s eventual decision add emotional depth to the narrative.
However, with the Kothari family’s dramatic interruption, bigger confrontations seem inevitable in the coming episodes.
