Star Plus’ popular show Udne Ki Aasha is receiving a mixed reaction from the audience. While some viewers still appreciate the show’s authentic storyline, balanced screen space in earlier episodes, and its refreshing approach of avoiding typical dragfest drama, many now feel the show has begun to lose its charm. The dramatic twists and relatable moments initially made Udne Ki Aasha stand out, but according to fans, the narrative is becoming repetitive and overly focused on the female lead.
The upcoming track once again highlights Sayali’s struggle. Pintya threatens her by saying she will not get the order to decorate the upcoming Ganpati celebration. In response, Sayali takes up the challenge and vows to complete the decoration of the pandal. This face-off, however, will put her in grave danger. While the storyline attempts to showcase Sayali’s determination, fans are increasingly frustrated that the focus continues to remain solely on her, sidelining other characters like Tejas and Roshni, whose arcs remain unexplored.

The disappointment is evident on social media. A fan wrote, “Watching #UdneKiAasha is a punishment. Imagine always having the ‘damsel in distress’ expression despite having everything in your favour. ‘Sailee ki Aasha’ is boring, monotonous, and extremely annoying.” Another added, “Itna accha nahi lagta ab UKA kyunki yaha bas FL ko hi importance de rahe hai. Roshni aur Tejas ke itne saare sach abhi baahar aane hain par makers late hi nahi kar rahe.”

The criticism doesn’t stop there. One viewer bluntly commented, “Udne Ki Aasha? No. It’s Sailee Ki Aasha. Good going.” Another frustrated fan tweeted, “Just feel #UdneKiAasha has totally lost the plot. I fast-forward most of it. Zero interest and so fed up of Sailee everywhere. One genuine question: In the OG version, was it this much torture too? Did everything revolve around the female lead only?”

Despite the backlash, Udne Ki Aasha continues to maintain strong TRPs, proving that the show still holds a loyal viewership base. However, with growing criticism about the repetitive focus on Sayali, it remains to be seen whether the makers will shift gears and bring more balance to the narrative.
Do you think Udne Ki Aasha has lost its plot? Or will it bounce back with stronger storylines for its other characters? Time will tell.
