By Anil Merain: Fandoms are strange. You can never bet on them, for sure.

Take Vivan Dsena, for example. At the moment, he is basking in stan glory. His fandom is active, pushing his Bigg Boss case, defending his every action.

Cut to a few years After the success of Shakti, when Vivian’s fortune hit the nadir, the same above fandom had deserted him in shows like Udaariyaan and Sirf Tum.

Fandoms like actors also have mood swings; no one knows what makes them tick.

Looking at the current love he is getting, Vivian should have been a top-notch star, but alas.

I guess jo dikhtha hai, wohi bikta hai, Vivian is a part of Bigg Boss 18. Hence, his old fans have resourced.

Shouldn’t this serve as a cautionary tale for Vivian? His trademark arrogance and nonchalence might be his undoing. He can’t afford to be complacent, especially when his success is contingent on a fickle fandom.

One must remember that an attitude can be a double-edged sword. It can be a boon when you’re successful, but it can quickly turn into a noose when things go south.

Vivian is also smart enough to realize that Bigg Boss has not greatly worked to relaunch inmates’ careers. Instead, his bad behaviour might alienate producers from casting him.

Most importantly, he should realize that his Bigg Boss journey is more dependent on the Bigg Boss than on fans. If they want him out, they can quickly engineer a situation where rival housemates can vote him out. Already, his attitude is beginning to irk some, e.g. Chahat Pandey. You need to develop alliances to stay on for the long haul.

Vivian needs to strike a balance. While his fans may be buoyed by his rudeness, the general audience may not be as forgiving. He needs to keep the entertainment factor high, ensuring both his fans and the general audience are captivated.
