By Gossips TV : The casting plans for Boyhood Productions’ upcoming television drama Mukkabaaz have reportedly seen several changes over the past few weeks. While Harshad Chopda’s name was strongly linked to the project initially, the makers are now said to have moved in a completely new direction with the casting.
As per the latest reports, actress Jahnvi Soni has been locked to play the female lead in the show. Actor Zain Imam, who was recently seen in Suman Indori, is currently being considered for the male lead and is expected to headline the project opposite Jahnvi. However, reports suggest that the actor is yet to officially sign the show, and the male lead has not been fully confirmed at this stage.
Earlier, actors like Harshad Chopda, Fahmaan Khan and later Shaheer Sheikh were reportedly in talks for the central role. However, the deal with Harshad reportedly did not materialise, following which the makers decided to rethink the casting and opt for a fresher pairing for the boxing-based drama.
The show will reportedly revolve around a man who once aspired to become a successful boxer but failed to achieve his dream. Years later, he discovers great potential in a young woman and decides to mentor her, helping her rise in the boxing world while also confronting his own past failures and emotional struggles.
The latest reports also suggest that Swattee Thakur has been roped in to play the negative lead in the show and will reportedly be seen as a boxer as well.
