By Anil Merani: What is happening to Asim Riaz after getting a second lease of Khatron Ki Khiladi life, rather than tamping down on his ugly spat with not less than the host Rohit Shetty? He is taking it to a new level. Check his new tweet; fans assume Asim is referring to the above well-known action director, which could escalate the tension.
He was eliminated a few days earlier after a verbal spat with Rohit Shetty, Shalin Bhanot and Abhishek Kumar.
I don’t think Rohit will take such umbrage kindly. Bollywood biggies have never liked TV actors who challenge their hegemony.
Shouldn’t Asim be focusing on the show’s challenges, like facing heights and insects, instead of creating new conflicts? He’s already managed to make enemies with co-contestants like Shalin and Abhishek. His actions could disrupt the show’s dynamics, and that’s a cause for concern.
All this will not help his concentration and mental strength. Dude, this is not Bigg Boss, where your attitude is required. He had made quite a splash in BB 13 courtesy of his run-in’s with the now-deceased Sidharth Shukla. His behaviour could disrupt the show’s dynamics and affect the audience’s perception of him and the show.
Some fans feel that all is being done to create drama, which will help promote the show when it airs a few months down the road.
It’s a nail-biting situation to see how Asim will fare in the show. He certainly has the physique required to go all the way. But the question remains: will he be eliminated due to the competition or sent home because of other issues? The jury is still out on this one.
Do the channel( Colors) and makers(Endemol Shine) feel that an honest show based on fighting off inner demons needs artificial spice to garner even more ratings? KKK always does well on TRP, but maybe they want even more numbers. And choosing someone like Asim, who has quite a temper, was a well-planned move?
It would be interesting to see if the numbers do rise on the back of such a stunt; anything is kosher in the ratings war.
I leave it to the audience whether they would want the initial KKK content, whose drama so far was more or less organic, or if you would want it to follow the Bigg Boss template.
I feel that if such a change is being affected, it would take away from KKK, which had a reputation for being a hard but honest show. The show’s potential shift towards a more dramatic narrative could compromise its reputation, raising questions about its authenticity and integrity.
So far, Shilpa Shinde and Aditi Sharma have been sent home from the motley group of contestants, including Karan Veer Mehra, Krishna Shroff, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Sumona Chakraborty, Niyati Fatnani etc.
