Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 – Reconnecting Families And Us To Ourselves Yet Again!

Indian television’s most iconic show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi made a comeback with it’s spiritual sequel last week and it has been an absolutely inspiring first week to say the least.

Most of the original cast including Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Ritu Chaudhary, Shakti Anand, Ketki Dave and Kamalika Guha Thakurta have reprised their respective roles in this spiritual sequel and we could not be more happier.

Apart from the nostalgia hitting us hard with the title track, the introduction scenes and the original cast, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi retained it’s very essense even after a generation gap between it’s last aired episode and first episode of this spiritual sequel which is simply amazing.

Right from the very first episode, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 is giving out the much needed inspiring messages to it’s audiences through it’s story and it stands out of the crowd for it’s fictional characters debuted on ITV twenty five years ago but their progressive thinking can leave most of today’s ITV characters way behind.

Here are few of many reasons why this spiritual sequel of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 is what we need to watch in order to reconnect with ourselves and our families –

• We Need Just That One Person In Our Corner – In the first episode of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, Tulsi was shamed multiple times by a couple of people, Tulsi heard it and acknowledged it that she looks older than her husband Mihir, is not as fit as him, disappointment was as clear as water on her face but it did not stay for long because she had that person alongside her for whom she is the most beautiful woman in the planet Earth, her husband.

The way Mihir made Tulsi feel beautiful about herself, every husband out there need to copy paste it to their respective wives. Mihir was not just talking about his Tulsi when he said that, the wrinkles, the fine lines on her face, that extra weight is because she takes care of each and every member of the house but herself. It’s true, right? We have witnessed our mothers taking care of everyone but when it comes to self care, they have no time to spare. The selfless care a wife and a mother offers is often taken for granted when it should be appreciated every single day.

The moment when Tulsi was standing halfway down the stairs looking relatively average in her appearance given it was her marriage anniversary celebration and Gayatri Chachi made an obnoxious comment, that very moment Mihir climbed up the stairs to match Tulsi, took her hand in his and proudly announced her arrival still has our heart.

It shows, we only need that one person in our corner to make us feel beautiful, make us feel special and even if the world is against us, it would not matter.

The OG OTP or “the original one true pair” of ITV, Mihir and Tulsi are giving couple goals and the current gen ITV OTP’s have a whole lot to learn from this OG couple. Period..

• A Mother Is Always Just – Honestly, we do not think that there is anyone who can compete with Tulsi when it comes to her being a mother who does not differentiate between her children and other’s children. Her empathetic nature can sometimes feel too much to others but that same empathy makes her a mother in the purest aspect.

Tulsi stopped Mihir from bailing out their son Angad because she was thinking about the other man involved in the accident, who was fighting for his life, she was thinking what his parents must be going through. The fact that even in that difficult situation, Tulsi could see beyond her love for her son makes her stand apart as a mother.

Tulsi was accused of being a partial mother, she did not respond to that accusation in that moment but it did plant a seed of doubt about her love for her son and she asked her son to punish her for not trusting him enough but Angad’s response washed away that doubt in an instance and it was adorable to watch.

• Family First – This notion of “family comes first” is sadly just a notion now- a-days and not everyone prioritizes their family or it’s needs over their life. Now, work comes first and family has taken a backseat. “Chhutti nahi mil rahi hai!” is the only constant sentence in the conversation and spending festivals without family or video calling during difficult times is the new normal.

When Hemant Virani did not think twice before leaving all his work, his important cases back in Delhi and came to Mumbai when his family needed him is one of the most heartwarming scene we witnessed in the first week of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.

Karan and Nandini too are moving back to India despite of having a well settled life in New York is an epitome of “family first!”

We know, many are going to argue about the fact that it is fiction and no body does that in real life, true, not everyone is capable of the courage it takes to think beyond your well-being, your future but there are still many people who do not think twice before sacrificing it all just for the sake of their loved ones.

Just to be clear, we are not encouraging anyone to put their life on hold or upheld their well settled lives for their family but seeing beyond “Chhutti nahi mil rahi” , “Kaam bahot hai!”sometimes makes all the difference and means the world to your loved ones.

The first week of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has been awesome in every way and we are expecting it’s complete run to be hyped as ever because it truly deserves it.
