By Anil Merani| Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who has won her sexual harassment case against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi, has said that the latter thinks himself to be God. “He feels himself above everyone else, which causes all sorts of problems on set.”
“No one has the guts to stand up to him, as they fear for their livelihood. Yet I am happy that no one said anything against me. Instead, some people supported me.” added Jennifer.
Since Jennifer has not received the twenty-five lacs, the Local Complaints Committee directed Asit Modi to pay her on 15th Feb 2024. She has decided to appeal against it in the High Court: ” I was allowed to either accept the verdict or move to a higher court.”
“At first, I would have been happy with an apology, but now I want justice. What did I get from this verdict? I was always liable to be paid my arrears. The five-lakh-added fine does not match the enormous legal fees I have already paid. “
Above all, the committee’s action only put Asit Modi under the dock, but what about operation head Sohil Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj, who were also complicit? questions Jennifer

Can Asit Modi also appeal against this decision? “I don’t know, but I hope he does, as that will save me legal fees. I will now need to speak to my legal team about my future course of action.”
When asked if actor’s body CINTAA helped her, “When I approached them last year, they asked me to go legal over the sexual charges. They said they would help me get my dues. Yet despite submitting all the documents, they have not recovered my money.”
