Actor Navniit Nisshan,  says she feels wonderful about the fact that people still remember her hit ’90s TV show, Tara.

“It was an urban show and the boldness of the concept worked. We had no competition back then, so it was easy to catch people’s attention. Today, it would be impossible to make a show like that. It is claimed (by channels) that people want to see the kind of shows that are currently on air. Those are not my cup of tea,” she says.

Navniit, who has been acting for 28 years, will soon be seen in a comedy show that also stars Kanwaljeet Singh. “There are many farcical comedies on TV these days, but no one attempts a real comedy. What I love about this show Dil Deke Dekho  is that it has a love story about older people,” she adds.

It appears Navniit is still in high demand. Producers have been approaching her to act in TV shows regularly. However, the actor doesn’t want to work just for the sake of it. “When one keeps refusing projects, people get fed up and don’t come to you with offers. But with God’s grace, I keep getting offers. I’ve been offered many shows that have been on air for many years, but they didn’t click with me, so I turned them down. I worked on a few shows, but I was so unhappy. I also make jewellery and paint, so I have other ways to make myself happy and to earn money,” she says.

On being asked about association with Manish R. Goswami she says, “ I have worked in the past with him and it has been a good association”
