Dipika Kakkar is currently busy mmaking fans go gaga over her. Dipika Kakkar is a name that rose to fame with Colors’ TRP grabber, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ for playing the titular role in the show.

But ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ wasn’t the first time she faced the camera. Dipika has been in the industry for almost a decade now and has done a variety of work. Her television debut was NDTV Imagine’s ‘Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi’ where she played the role of Laxmi. A girl who is considered as the reincarnation of a goddess by the people of village. The character was challenging but Dipika played Laxmi’s inner turmoil and her exploitation at the hands of those people entrenched in blind faith and superstition.

After that Dipika was seen in Zee TV’s ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’ as Rekha, the younger sister to the main character.

The turning point in Dipika’s career came when she got selected to play the leading lady in Colors’ ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ The show went on to be a TRP grabber for the channel and ran for seven long years from 2011 to 2017. While a lot of things can be said about the course of the show and its treatment, the good thing was it polished Dipika as an actor. This is also the show where she met her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim.

While her show was still on air,Dipika participated in Colors’ dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja Season 8’ in 2015. Two years later, Dipika along with her husband Shoaib Ibrahim took part in ‘Nach Baliye 8’ too.

In 2018, Dipika returned to acting in the role of Suhasini Thakur in Star Plus’ ‘Qayamat Ki Raat’. In the same year, Dipika became a part of Colors’ Bigg Boss 12 and emerged as the winner of that season beating Shreesanth.

Dipika returned to full time acting on TV with Star Plus’ ‘Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum’ where she is winning hearts as Sonakshi Rastogi who is an actress in a relationship with a surgeon, Rohit Sippy played by Karan V Grover. The show is Dipika’s biggest mass success where she has surprised everyone with her realistic and natural acting compared to her previous show’s melodramatic portrayal of her characters.

Dipika also has a film in her kitty. In 2018 she was seen in ‘Paltan’.

We would like to wish Dipika all the very best and hope she gets to do a lot more work and entertain audiences to the best of her abilities.
