BY ANIL MERANI || I had been waiting for Colors Sherdil Shergill for a long time, being a Surbi Chandna stan. After watching the first three episodes, it is a mixed bag of feeling tilting toward the positive.

On the one hand, I am enjoying Manmeet’s (Surbhi’s character name) friction with Rajkumar (Dheeraj Dhoopar), which was a departure from ordinary daily soap.

Her clash with her family becomes just another tv show track

Agree showing a single mother is different; the father is still the epitome of a traditional Indian dad. Guess the makers could not only show the youth side as it might alienate your huge housewife audience.

Surbhi is essaying her character very well, bringing out her daughter’s weakness while remaining firm in her professional space. I am happy to note a lot of office scenes. I like Surbhi costumes and body language, unlike a daily soap lady.

Dheeraj is spot on as a spoilt brat. It would be fun to see how the twain falls in love and how the family conflict pans out.

Manmeeet getting even with Rajkumarby getting his girl online was super fun, high time someone got him down to terra firma.’

Full marks to producer Saurabh Tewari, who is at least attempting to change tv grammar by bringing in a professional lady in an office set-up to a daily soap ecosystem

Now it is all up to the TRP audience. If they embrace the show, the current story will continue. If not, the show will go the old route.

Rating 3.5/5(keeping my fingers crossed)
