Neerushaa Nikhat, the costume designer who is an allrounder was spotted at Nikhil Sinha and Sohanna sinha’s bash at Andheri. She has designed for about 45 shows in sixteen year long career so far.
She says, “ All my shows have been very special for me but Devon ke dev… Mahadev, Veer Shivaji, Jhansi ki raani and Ashoka, Karn, Baalveer and above all Siya Ke Ram.The most research I have done is for Siya Ke Ram. I didn’t want to do something different but relatable to the current world. We wanted to relate to the current time period. I have researched a lot on the paintings of Maithali and Madhubani and hand crafted organic fabric. There are three worlds in Siya ke Ram – Mithila, the native of Sita; Ayodhya of Ram and Lanka related to Ravan. I have three different zones to work. One work I have spared for all the three worlds. For Lanka, I wanted to touch south. I wanted to go north for Ayodhya where I can make a lot out of Madhubani and for Mithila I wanted to take reference from Himachal Pradesh and Maithali paintings because Mithila is based on hilly areas and mountain region. It was a perfect experience”.
On being associated with Nikhil and Sohanna she says, “They are awesome people. Sohanna is full of life and its a pleasure to work with them”.Â
