Ever since the speculation of long-running Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai latest giant leap, there has been constant chatter regarding the possible exits of both main leads, i.e. Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan.
They are obviously, uncomfortable playing parents or older characters at such a young age. Several actors have quit other big shows due to the same reason before.
This news has gained further credence with buzz floating around that Shivangi and Mohsin have a four crore main Bigg Boss house ( Colors) offer.
If this is correct, it would mean that both want to follow HinaKhan, aka Akshara of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai footsteps. She, too, had entered season 11 of the Salman Khan hosted reality show wishing to come out of the positive bahu image (Having played the lead for seven long years), which she successfully pulled off. She is now doing both movies and web series.
Even Hina’s, Yeh Rishta on-screen,, partner, Karan Mehra entered Bigg Boss 10, but he, unfortunately, has been unable to break out of the Naitik mould.
Returning to Yeh Rishta, our highly placed sources inform us that Director Kut’s production house is full steam scouting for new leads. They have reportedly already sounded out Digangana Suryavanshi, Riya Sharma( Pinjara Khoobsurati Ka) and Rhea Sharma( Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke)for the same.
We think producer Rajan Shahi and Star Plus are confident that the change of leads will not harm the show if the story is good. Remember, Shivangi and Mohsin had themselves replaced Hina and Karan in 2016.
