Dwelling on Wasim’s worldview, Nishant he says, ” Hailing from a weaker section of society, Wasim thinks the rich have an easy life. He also feels that those loaded med students would not be suitable in their job because they would have purchased their college seats while he had to slog to wear the white coat. “
It was challenging to bring out the above elements naturally. Our director Arif sir helped me get the nuance of Wasim’s thought process. After a while, I surrendered to the character, and things became a breeze.”
Ask about Wasim’s equation with Dr Siya( Alma Hussein )? and Nishant smiles .” Both have a Tom and Jerry kind of equation. “They start on a sour note due to his above thinking but get into a romantic thing at some point. Why dont you watch the entire series to find out how they end up.”
Nishant is hopeful that Dhadkan might change the game for him. “If a show gets noticed, everyone benefits.”
Dhadkan is Nishant’s first TV outing. Before this, he did two web series, Breathe2 ( Amazon Prime) and Tabbar( Sony Liv)”. I next have a feature up my sleeve with Panorama films, though I can’t give any details yet.”
Point out Dhadkan is not making much TRP noise, and he says, “Producers Nilanjana Purkayasstha and Herumb Khot wanted to make a good woke show period. Had TRP been their plan, they would have let the show grow on the tube. But here it is also dropping on MX Player, Jio over above Sony Liv.”
As an actor, Wasim is platform-neutral(TV, web or films) ” For me, the character alone matters and nothing else. Also, today thanks to globalization, desi tv content to has gone up several notches.”
